Services for Visitors & Guests

Information for patrons who are not affiliated with Loyola University Chicago.

  • Community Members
Community members can gain entrance to the Klarchek Information Commons and Cudahy Library Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Upon entering, you will be required to present a government-issued photo ID at the front desk. Visitors are restricted during final exam periods. The Lewis Library at the Water Tower Campus does not allow community access.
  • Visiting Scholars
Scholars visiting Loyola on a long-term basis in order to work with a faculty member or department can request a guest card. The Dean or department chair should submit a request via email to Chris Martin, Head of Access Services.
  • Students & Faculty from other institutions
We have established reciprocal library privileges with a number of peer universities. See Reciprocal Borrowing Agreements for more details.
  • Alumni
Alumni can enter the library buildings on both campuses by presenting their alumni card. See Services for Alumni for more information.
  • InfoPass
If you need access to specific research material not available elsewhere, you may be eligible for an InfoPass. See InfoPass Policy for more information.
  • Friends of the Libraries
Members of our Friends group have access to the libraries as well as book borrowing privileges.

Note: Due to contractual limitations we are unable to provide off-campus access to our online resources to anyone other than Loyola students, faculty, or staff.

Note: Due to final exams access for community members will be restricted from April 24 through May 7. Community access will resume on Monday, May 8.
