Requirements for Using Library Spaces
Please wear a mask at all times while in the library. Food is not permitted, but drinks are permitted in covered containers. Please wear headphones when using the sound on a computer or mobile device.
Alumni, Friends of the Libraries, Reciprocal Borrowers, and Community Guests
We welcome alumni, Friends of the Libraries, reciprocal borrowers, and community members. Please note all visitors to the library must show proof of vaccination and a valid, government-issued photo ID. Alumni, Friends, and reciprocal borrowers should additionally bring an Alumni Card, a Friends of the Libraries Card, or an ID from a reciprocal institution, as applicable.
Entry hours for community visitors at the Information Commons and Cudahy Library: 8AM and 5PM, Monday-Saturday. Visitors may check in between 8AM and 5PM, Monday-Saturday. No visitors will be admitted after 5PM. Those checking in before 5PM may stay after 5PM but no reentry is permitted. There is no visitor access on Sundays.
Entry hours for Alumni, Friends of the Libraries, those from reciprocal institutions, and guests of Loyola patrons at Information Commons, Cudahy Library, and Lewis Library: 8AM-midnight, or until buildings close.
In person and phone help is now available at the reference desks at the Information Commons and Lewis Library. Research help appointments are available in person and online.
Interlibrary loan (borrowing books from other libraries) is available to all faculty, staff, and students. Please see this page to access Interlibrary Loan services and get more information.
Book Delivery for Students Enrolled Exclusively in Online Courses

Returning Books Shipped Directly from the Libraries
If you received books from the Libraries shipped directly via Amazon, please deposit them in any Lakeshore Campus Book Drop with a note including the phrase “Ship-Direct Return” and your UVID/email address. You are not expected to return materials until you are able to do so on campus. If your situation dictates that you must return materials via a carrier service (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.), please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
