Returning Items to a Circulation Desk
You can directly return items to the library at a circulation desk. If you are returning interlibrary loan (ILL) items, AV items, or course reserves, please return them to the same location and desk from which you borrowed them.
Returning Items to a Book Drop Box
Book drop boxes are available at the following locations:
- Cudahy Library: west exterior side of building near the emergency doors.
- Corboy Law Center (for Lewis Library and Law Library items): inside first floor near the north entrance.
- Information Commons: inside the west (main) entrance atrium.
We clear each drop box at least once per day on Monday-Friday. If you return an item to a drop box over the weekend, we may not check it in until Monday.
If you cannot access a specific drop box, or if the drop box is too full to insert any items, please contact us at CUD-CIRC@luc.edu.
Returning Items by Mail
You can return items by mail to the following address:
attn: Access Services

Returning “Ship-Direct” Books from the Libraries
If you received library books shipped directly from Amazon, please return them to any of the Cudahy Library or Information Commons drop boxes. For each book that you return, please include a note that says “Ship-Direct Return” and your Loyola e-mail address.
We do not expect you to return ship-direct materials until you are able to do so on campus, but if you need to return them by mail, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
