As of August 15th 2005, all cohort students must use
the ILLiad service to request books, articles or microfiches
regardless of the location.
- If you cannot obtain your
material full text online, you do not need to determine
whether Loyola Libraries have
the print format any longer. The Cohort staff will
make the determination and treat your requests accordingly.
- You
will need to create an account with ILLiad.
This is a one time registration process, the password
will not expire. In addition ILLiad lets you keep
track of your requests and keeps a history of your
transactions.
We hope this will make the whole process smoother for
you. If you have any questions please contact your Interlibrary
Loan librarian: Jennifer
Stegen 773-508-6022
Recalling a book:
Use this form to request that a checked-out item be returned.
Choosing "recall" will change the due date to
within 2 weeks. If you don't need it right away you may
want to note "HOLD" in the "Additional Information
about this request" area at the bottom of the form.
The book will not be renewed and will be held for you as
soon as it is returned
Receiving and Returning Library Materials
- Requested library materials will be mailed to the
address indicated by the patron on the request forms.
- Journal
articles are copied and do not need to be returned.
Bound journals will not be sent.
- Books will be stamped
with a due date or include a sheet with the due date.
The patron will be responsible
for the timely and safe return of library materials,
regardless of the return method chosen.
- ERIC fiche longer than 12 pages
will not be copied. Instead, you will receive the original
microfiche with a due date. Please return the fiche
as you would
with the books.
- Library materials are subject to all standard
library policies, including recalls after 10 days.
- Patrons can
return materials in person, US Mail, or other delivery
service.
Interlibrary Loan Materials
- Interlibrary loan materials will arrive with a paper
band around the front cover of the book/dissertation.
- Any
restrictions, such as NO RENEWALS, will be highlighted.
- The
due date on the paper band is the date
the book is due back at the Lewis Library. Please
allow plenty of time if you are mailing
materials
back to the library.
- Some materials may be LIBRARY USE ONLY so you may
need to visit the Lewis Library in order to use these
materials.
- Materials received through interlibrary
loan must be returned on time to ensure good standing
with the
owning library.
Renewing Books
- Try renewing your books online first before the due
date. This
page will let you renew books from Loyola
Libraries.
- To renew books from another university use
your ILLiad account.
- Phone renewals will be allowed
as appropriate. Please contact the Interlibrary Loan
Librarian, Jennifer
Stegen, at
773-508-6022 to have materials renewed.
- When calling
to renew materials, please have your Loyola University
ID and books in your possession.
