To use the library's databases from off campus, you must log in as a Loyola user.
Why Must I Login This Way?
The University Libraries provide a variety of resources that can be accessed remotely. However, because of contractual agreements, access to many research databases is restricted to current faculty, staff and students. As a result, you must be identified as a Loyola user, using one of the three methods above. Even if you know that you are a Loyola student, the only way our computer can tell is if you use one of our login methods.
How To Connect
Proxy Server - Simply browse the libraries' resources from the library homepage as usual. If you are off campus, a proxy login screen will appear when you choose to use a database. Once logged in, you can search as many databases as you like until the session ends when the Web browser is closed. This is the quickest way to get started, if you have a Loyola Universal computer ID and already have a way to get to the Internet (for example, America Online or other service provider).
