Faculty Guide
Putting Items on Reserve:
- Faculty can put materials on reserve for their students.
- These materials can be put on Room Reserve (used only in library) or on Overnight Reserve (the material can be taken out of the library after 9:00 pm and returned the next morning before 9:00 am).
- Faculty may update reserve material during the academic year.
- Please bring all your reserve materials and instructions to the library marked "attention of Elise Aversa."
- Providing a copy of your class syllabus to accompany the reserve materials would be greatly appreciated in order to help maintain the accuracy of your reserves.
Electronic Table of Contents Service:
- Ingenta Table of Contents Alert Service (formerly CARL UnCover) provides research alerts via email for more than 25,000 publications. If you have not yet signed up for this service, you can do so now. To sign up, you must use a computer in the library. After your account is established, though, you can make changes to your account from any computer.
- From A-Z list, click on Ingenta: Table of Contents Alert Service.
- In the left hand column you will see "Sign up for your personal features and homepage" Click on Sign up Now.
- Select Personal Registration
- Fill out the form. Be certain to leave the check mark in the box by "I would like full-text access to my institution's/company's subscriptions"
- Once your account is set up, go to Manage My Ingenta to add publications to your account.

Intercampus Loan:
- Books and periodicals housed at one of the other Loyola campuses may be requested through intercampus loan.
- If materials can be transmitted electronically, requests can be processed within 48 hours or two working days.
- Faculty will be notified by mail when Intercampus Loan materials arrive.
- Please direct all intercampus loan requests to Elise Aversa.
Book Purchases:
- Faculty may request the purchase of books to support their classes and the Rome Center Library collection by contacting Elise Aversa..
- The requests are then sent to the Loyola libraries in Chicago, or if deemed necessary and possible, the books may be purchased here in Rome.
Book Transfers:
- Faculty may request that books be temporarily transferred from the Loyola libraries in Chicago to the Rome Center Library to support classes and the Rome Center Library collection.
- Requests for transfer of books must be made 5 weeks prior to the standard charter flight to Rome for Loyola students at the beginning to each term.
- All transfers are subject to approval by subject bibliographers at the Loyola Libraries.
