Mission Statement
|
The mission of the Loyola University Libraries is to enhance the learning, research, and service
objectives of the University by providing physical and intellectual access to information resources
in the spirit of the Jesuit tradition of free inquiry.
In support of this mission, the libraries and archives will:
- Develop and preserve collections that support the curriculum and research interests of students,
faculty, and staff
- Organize convenient and seamless access to print, electronic, and other resources to facilitate
research and expand scholarship
- Teach patrons to use information resources and technologies effectively and promote lifelong
learning skills
- Retain a staff committed to service excellence, continuous learning, and leadership within the library
and archival professions
- Foster collaborations throughout the university community to create effective partnerships and maximize
resources
- Cooperate regionally, nationally and internationally with other libraries and consortia to acquire
and share collections and resources with the scholarly community.
